Comparative Analysis of CNA Timing Algorithms

Columbia University, Apr - Jul 2024

During my graduate research internship at the Irving Institute of Cancer Dynamics (IICD), Columbia University, I worked on evaluating the timing of Copy Number Alterations (CNAs) in tumor evolution. The project integrates multiple algorithms into the CINner simulation framework to compare their performance in predicting CNA events. The study also explores adapting these algorithms, originally designed for bulk sequencing data, to single-cell data, addressing unique challenges like false negatives and low coverage.
